Microsoft Unified Communications - Overview
The Unified Communications course is designed to give students an introduction into the concepts of Unified Communications plus an insight into the enterprise capabilities of Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007. Through a mixture of lecture and practical exercises students will deploy OCS 2007 and be made aware of the product features. The course is designed for those who are looking to deploy OCS 2007. The course can be used as preparation towards the Microsoft OCS certification exam.
Course Objectives
The primary objective is for delegates to obtain an understanding of Microsoft’s vision of Unified Communications. AS part of the course delegates will:
- Deploy an Office Communications Server 2007 infrastructure
- Configure and test voice and telephony features within OCS 2007
- Be aware of the concepts of the rich presence model and rich presence information data format
- Investigate the capabilities of web conferencing within OCS 2007

Examination Passing Policy
Should a student complete a Firebrand Training Program without having successfully passed all vendor examinations, the student may re-attend that program for a period of one year. Students will only be responsible for accommodations and vendor exam fees.
Microsoft Unified Communications - Prerequisites
Knowledge of Microsoft server products, plus Exchange 2007 and Sharepoint are required for this course.
Firebrand Training staff interview all potential students regarding their technical background, degrees and certifications held, and personal fortitude. This screening process ensures a successful match between the customer and Firebrand Training toward accelerated training and certification.
