Cisco CCSP Certification - Overview

The goal of this fourteen-day accelerated program for Cisco Certified Security Professional Certification is to provide network security professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to design and implement highly secure networked business systems. The CCSP provides an individual with professional level recognition in designing and implementing Cisco security solutions using Cisco IOS technologies, Cisco Secure ACS, ASA and PIX® security appliances, and 4200 IPS sensors.

The Community for National Systems Security (CNSS) now awards the "Information Systems Security Professional" (INFOSEC) certification for the successful completion of the program's first four Cisco certification exams.

During the program, students will live, learn, and take the Cisco exams at one of our state-of-the-art education centres. This blended-learning program employs outcome-based (Lecture | Lab | Review) delivery - that focuses on preparing you with the real-world skills required to pass the simulator-based exams and to hit the ground running in your career.

Our Dual Certification Program

  • Allows you to achieve your certification in half the time of 'traditional training' while delivering industry-leading exam passing percentages
  • Helps students grasp complex technical concepts more easily by identifying and catering to individual student learning styles through a mixed visual, auditory and kinaesthetic-tactual delivery system
  • Enhances retention by employing accelerated learning techniques focused on committing information to long-term memory

Cisco CCSP Certification - Benefits

Security has always been a concern to organizations that perform business. As organizations expand their networks and interconnect, the emphasis on network security has moved to the forefront. The market for skilled network security professionals has never been better. Remembering that network security is simply security applied to networking, it only makes sense to hone your skills on products that are the most recognized in the industry when working toward a network security certification.

Overall, Cisco certification validates an individual's achievement, increasing the holder's professional credibility by ensuring high standards of technical expertise. In particular, Cisco CCSP certification indicates knowledge of Cisco security products and technologies, as well as the ability to use them to build integrated network security solutions.

CCSP certification indicates that the holder can

  • Secure the network infrastructure using Cisco security products and integrated technologies
  • Deploy perimeter security, VPNs, and intrusion protection technologies and solutions
  • Monitor and detect relevant security events
  • Manage network security to protect productivity gains and reduce costs

Cisco certifications also afford you special membership benefits:

  • A certificate of accomplishment.
  • A wallet card, logo and designation for your personal promotion to clients or potential employers.
  • Access to the secure Cisco on-line tracking system so you can download logos, and track your Cisco certification progress throughout your career.

Other accelerated training providers rely heavily on lecture and independent self-testing and study.

Effective technical instruction must be highly varied and interactive to keep attention levels high, promote camaraderie and teamwork between the students and instructor, and solidify knowledge through hands-on learning.

Firebrand Training provides instruction to meet every learning need, including

  • Intensive group instruction
  • One-on-one instruction attention
  • Hands-on labs
  • Lab partner and group exercises
  • Question and answer drills
  • Independent study

This information has been provided as a helpful tool for candidates considering certification. Benefits of certification determined through studies do not guarantee any particular personal successes. Firebrand Training provides a guarantee of obtaining certification at the camp, but does not make any guarantees about personal successes or benefits of obtaining certification.

  • Strong hands-on TCP/IP, subnetting, and OSI model knowledge and skills.
  • A valid CCNA certification

Cisco CCNA certification is a prerequisite for registering for the Cisco CCSP certification examinations.

Firebrand Training staff interview all potential students regarding their technical background, degrees and certifications held, and personal fortitude. This screening process ensures a successful match between the customer and Firebrand Training toward accelerated training and certification.

Firebrand Training is an aggressive training environment. You must have an attitude aimed for success. The above prerequisites are guidelines, but many students with less experience have other background or traits that have enabled their success in accelerated training through Firebrand Training.

I will have no issue in recommending the course to my colleagues, and business acquaintances."

"Best training class i have been to. Great instructor, good learning environment, no outside influence and distractions. Be ready to spend an incredible amout of time on your study, and you will be successful. It's worth the effort."
Jose Garcia Vazquez, GGB Germany GmbH & Co. KG.
Cisco CCSP (14 Days) (26/6/2006 to 9/7/2006)

"After putting off doing my CCSP for some time, I was glad to finally put myself on the course. My biggest feeling that I had, was that I didn't have enough experience working on PIX firewalls and IDS/IPS systems. Only at an installation level. But I did have a good networking background on routers and swiFirebrand*hes, had seen TACACS inplace, so that part of the course flew by. I'd set VPNs up before and must of been lucky, but this was the hardest test there's a lot to take in, but it was well worth it. SND was really easy, do this test at the end, no training is needed for that really. If you come in with a good attitude and to want to pass this, you'll do well. I now feel comfortable and happier going for the security jobs/contracts that get posted and emailed to me, I now have more choice. The course is paying for itself. As soon as I informed the two agencies I do work for that I was going on a CCSP course, they were lining work up for me. OK, so I have to get past the interview, I didn't/couldn't get there before! Food's great, locations great, no distractions, good training, good atmosphere, I passed! What more could you want! Other guys on the course had only just done their CCNA a couple of months ago, they passed, so if you're CCNA don't be worried about going for this!"
